Why 5Mins exists

We love learning. We didn't love hour-long training.

Hour-long webinars and day-long courses are hard to fit around a busy job, so people put them off or click through without taking anything in. That's how you end up with completion under 5% on a legacy LMS.

We started 5Mins to fix that. Every microlesson takes about 5 minutes, works in the browser or on the iOS and Android apps, and fits between meetings, shifts and site visits. AI creates the content, automations enroll and remind people, and reporting shows who completed what.

2020 to today

How 5Mins grew, one year at a time

5Mins started with a team from Perkbox, the employee experience platform Saurav co-founded and grew to serve thousands of employers. Here's what happened next.

2020The idea

Training that fits a working day
The idea starts at Perkbox, the employee experience platform Saurav co-founded and led as CEO. He and the team there love learning, but hour-long webinars and day-long courses never fit a busy week. So they start sketching microlessons short enough to finish between meetings.
2021Day one

5Mins is founded in London
Saurav founds 5Mins in London, joined by people from Perkbox and a small product, engineering and content team. Many of that first team are still here today, including Divjot, Cosmin, Madlena, Bruno, Ricardo, Paulo, Ilham and Lourenço.
2022Launch

Going live and a $5.7M seed round
5Mins goes to market in March with a TikTok-style feed of microlessons. In November, AlbionVC leads a $5.7M seed round, with Chalfen Ventures, Portfolio Ventures, Blue Lion Global and Edenred Capital Partners.
2023Growing the library

20,000+ microlessons and a CIPD stage
Content partners including Atlassian, Zendesk and HiBob help grow the library past 20,000 microlessons. Saurav speaks at the CIPD Festival of Work on HR and generative AI, and Hugo the Hummingbird joins the team.
2024Enterprise teams

Global organizations roll out 5Mins
Teams like BD and AZA Finance launch 5Mins, and AZA Finance lifts participation from 30-40% to 80%. We start work toward ISO 27001, and Perkbox is acquired by Great Hill Partners.
2025AI joins the team

AI turns documents into microlessons
We launch AI-powered content creation, now part of AI Studio, so teams can turn their own documents into microlessons in minutes. In-person events and audio microlessons follow later in the year.
2026Today

One platform, an LMS and LXP in one
Programs and a rebuilt SCORM experience join the platform. Today 5Mins is the AI microlearning platform for compliance, leadership and role skills, and you'll find us (and Hugo) at events across the UK.

Founder & CEO
Saurav co-founded Perkbox before starting 5Mins in 2021 to make workplace training something people finish. He also backs early-stage founders as an angel investor.
Divjot Singh
Head of Product
Divjot has led product at 5Mins since 2021. He previously headed customer experience at WhiteHat Jr and Meesho, so learner feedback shapes every release.
Madlena Pozlevic
Customer Success Lead
Maddie helps customers launch 5Mins and build a learning culture. She joined in 2021 from Perkbox, where she led employee experience and engagement.
Cosmin Coman
Head of Engineering
Cosmin has built the 5Mins platform since 2021. Before that, he wrote software for Hertz and The Times and interviewed engineers at Karat.

Zhara leads the team behind our in-built content. She joined from Uswitch and started her career as a digital business apprentice at Google.
